Ready to Run Showcase at Bayswater College

DLA hosted a showcase of the Ready to Run videos and platform with our partners Bayswater College - which has been using these resources in its courses. We invited writers, teachers, publishers, experts and members of the London ELT community to go back to the future in a brand new ELT school offering video-led teaching.
Baywater College delivers traditional ELT and other more innovative courses such as Digital Media in English to international students. The state of the art space, with latest online interactive whiteboard screens in every teaching area, allows teachers to use digital media all levels and a range of ages.
In bouncy mood following Monday evening’s win for DLA at the ELTon’s Award Ceremony, DLA’s showcase evening gave our guests the chance to meet the DLA team, discuss the principles and pedagogy behind the platform, and meet teachers working with our videos.
Teacher Pamela Phillips delivered the highlight - a short class taught to the partygoers using one of the Ready to Run units. It was a conversation session she had already given to her students. The lesson followed the learning design provided with the unit, and showed the way topic and language of authentic video brings energy and speaking opportunities.
